I can’t believe we are in the last third of June. With the colder weather, pots are taking that little longer to dry, I’m started this week putting boiled water from the jug in my  throwing water (trying to stop … Continue reading

Bottle tags return….

These little gems were very popular when I first started my online store with Bluecaravan in 2010. They went very well at the night markets in the city and sold out at the Finders Keepers market in Brisbane.

I’ve decided to reinvent them and release a new collection just in time for Mother’s Day 2014. The style has changed slightly, and the colours are new, but the handmade quality and durability remain the constant. Handmade from Australian Southern Ice Porcelain and twice fired, with the second firing to 1300 degrees, there strong, dishwasher safe (please remove the ribbon) and sure to be well used and loved.

I’ve just finished colouring a first run and am excitied to see what they look like once fired. They’ve just been loaded into a bisque firing. This won’t be able to be emptied till late Thursday, early Friday morning. Then they will be glazed and ready for their final firing.

DEBUTING AT THE BrisStyle Indie Market – inside City Hall Saturday 10 May, 9am till 3pm.

If you would like to pre-order some for collection at the market, please just send me and email. Further images will be available next week.

From the kiln….

Every year I make a new range of Christmas decorations and since 2010 I have been selling them at markets. Below is a sneak peak at some of this years offerings…

This little reindeer is cut from my own design then bisque fired to 1000 degrees. The design is applied with Japanese Tissue and then glazed… then back into the kiln and fired to 1280 degrees.

I have also coloured the white christmas trees in a similar way.

Below is a bell shape that was popular last year, so I have included it with a different design for 2012…

I took another photo of the test hand coloured clay buttons….my family think they look like fruit loops….

The texture of these buttons is wonderful… I’m still deciding on final sizes for these. In the meantime I’m working on other colours to complement the range. I’m thinking a soft lemon, stormy grey, ruby red and maybe murky black. Please let me know what you think….
