New exhibition…..

I was over the moon recently when I received confirmation of an exhibition place at The Hub for October, 2013. There are 13 exhibitions in the gallery for the year and a selection committee goes through all the applications to decide on the lucky few….

The exhibition titled “Passage” will be a joint exhibition with my friend/fellow artist Sandra Pearce – a printmaker. The theme for Passage is the tidal zones of the beautiful Moreton  Region.

I will be documenting various tidal zones over the next couple of months and working on preliminary pieces for the exhibition. (Which I think might have to involve morning walks and late afternoon finishing with fish and chips on the beach).

I really love walking through the tidal zone and inspecting the seaweed, shells and fragments and looking at the patterns in the sand from the tide and small creatures. I would live near a beach just for this reason, but the beach would have to have lots of wash up.

I will be venturing out this weekend with the family and camera to see what treasures I can find.
